At the beginning of my career; I trained as a glassmaker, a really traditional craft. You learn how to create and design a glass object from a liquid mass - including drinking glasses, of course, like the ones we make by machine here at Ritzenhoff.

Ritzenhoff Are there opportunities for promotion and development at Ritzenhoff?
Definitely. After all, commitment should be rewarded. With a view to qualification and performance, we promote individual development perspectives.
Ritzenhoff How long is the probationary period and are the employment contracts initially limited?
The standard six-month probationary period is written into the employment contracts. Limited term contracts are unusual for us; we are happy for our employees to remain in the Ritzenhoff family for the long term.
Ritzenhoff How much do I earn at Ritzenhoff?
Our fixed groupings come into full effect depending on the function.
Ritzenhoff How many days of holiday are there per year?
Regularly 30 days per year. For employees in the 4-shift system even 32 days per year. All employees over the age of 56 acquire an additional entitlement of up to 5 days per year. In addition, we offer special leave for special occasions.
Ritzenhoff What are the working hours?
In the production areas we work in shift systems and have fixed working hours. In the administrative roles we have flexible working hours. There is also the possibility of mobile work after consultation with the specific department. Depending on the area of work, we work with different shift systems:

In the 3-shift system, we work from Monday to Friday, alternating weekly:
5 days early shift 06:00 - 14:00 - 2 days off
5 days night shift 22:00 - 06:00 - 2 days off
5 days late shift 14:00 - 22:00 - 2 days off

In the 4-shift system, work takes place from Monday to Sunday:
7 days early shift 06:00 - 14:00 - 2 days off
7 days night shift 22:00 - 06:00 - 3 days off
7 days late shift 14:00 - 22:00 - 2 days off
Ritzenhoff Are there holiday and Christmas bonuses?
Yes, we pay both and have regulated this in our company works agreement.
Ritzenhoff Are there allowances?
Yes, we think that subsidies such as capital-forming benefits and company pension schemes are very important for our employees and are happy to provide them.
