Establishing sustainable practices in the company as an ongoing process is not only a challenge, but also offers great opportunities. Conducting business in an economically, ecologically and socially responsible manner is worthwhile. This includes fair working conditions, environmental protection and the careful use of resources. We work consistently on anchoring sustainable processes in the company, constantly developing and implementing them – for humankind, the environment and for future generations.

We are sustainable:

  • As a signatory to the UN Global Compact, we participate in the world’s largest and most important initiative for responsible company management. The UN Global Compact pursues the vision of an inclusive and sustainable global economy for the benefit of all people, communities and markets, now and in the future.

  • A regular SMETA four-pillar audit confirms that we meet the standards set in the areas of environmental management, business ethics, working conditions and occupational health and safety. This external audit, unlike internal measures, ensures an independent assessment.

  • Through certification according to DIN EN ISO 50001 (international standard for an energy management system), we prove that, as an energy-intensive production facility, we always monitor our energy quantities in order to keep the use of energy in the glass melt as low as possible and to continuously improve energy efficiency. Examples of energy savings: 2017 – 4.78%, 2018 – 5%, 2019 – 7.29%.

  • By renewing the process cooling in glass production, we save large amounts of CO2 per year.
  • To optimise the control of the air and fuel supply in the melting furnace, we have installed a new lambda control system. This enables us to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 7.7%.
  • We produce crystal glass exclusively in accordance with the EU Directive 69/492/EEC. Our glasses have a high-level shine and this is despite not adding any harmful lead.
  • We avoid waste according to Directive 2008/98/EC of the European Parliament. The aim is to prevent or reduce the harmful effects of waste generation and disposal thereof, to reduce the overall impact of resource use and to improve the efficiency of resource use, in order to protect the environment and human health.
  • We recycle our own production waste and return broken glass to the production cycle.
  • In 2019, we were awarded the Silver Award by Ecovadis, an independent and world’s most-trusted sustainability ranking for companies, in recognition of our CSR achievements.

  • We help our staff to keep fit by, for example, subsidised bike leasing.
  • We are committed to the region and donate money and goods to schools, sports clubs, etc.
  • We support educational initiatives by participating in job fairs, offering internships and organising information events and tours of the company for school classes.
